VIEDMA, Rafael Fernandez (Spain)

Spanish born and Seville- based, composer Raphael has a sophisticated charm to his orchestral filmscores that is subtle, engaging and full of hope.

His most recent feature film score is for director Miguel Guadencio’s SWIADEK , due for release in 2016 and his Short film scores include The Love Paradox (Dir. Ian Allen Lim), Attic for Director Michael Fisher and Robo for director Tao Wright.

Rafael’s music for Felix Gonnert’s animation Apollo is a true masterpiece of music to picture, that exquisitely tells the story of a young boy realizing his dream to go into space.


In addition to composing for film, Rafael is an arranger and a violinist who studied with Hans Krakenberger, Jessie Levine, Charles Tunnel and Osvaldo Ciancia. He is a founding member of the Granada Chamber Orchestra and Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville.

In the 1990’s he was artistic director and composer of the Nueva Camerata de Sevilla and with Ensemble Hispanico Numen, Rafael performs in music festivals all over the world to great public and critical success.
