HEPP, Raimund (Austria)

Raimund Hepp was born and raised in Austria near the border of Switzerland. He started playing the piano at an early age and as a teenager the bass (double and electric) became his principal instrument. Ever since he has been playing with numerous funk, jazz and rock bands.

For the Austrian feature film Der Atem des Himmels (distributed by Constantin Film, 2010) Raimund composed and orchestrated more than one hour of music which was recorded with the Slovak National Symphony orchestra. The score was nominated for the Austrian Film Awards 2011 in the category Best Original Score and also won the ‘Golden Rooster Award’ (Chinese equivalence of the Academy Awards) for Best Foreign Movie in 2011. In 2012 when the movie was shown on Austrian TV ‘it had the best rates of any movie shown since 2007.

In 2013 Raimund was chosen to participate in the prestigious ASCAP Television and Film Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles, one of the most highly competitive workshops in the world, where he had the opportunity to work with the Hollywood Studio Symphony at the Newman Scoring Stage at 20th Century Fox.

Raimund also has a passion for electronic music and sound design and has created music that combines orchestral and electronic elements. In 2012 he co-composed and produced a song for Austrian Pop Star Reinhold Bilgeri. This song was part of a compilation LP which was issued by Red Bull Media House GmbH.
