Daryl grew up in a musical family. His father Craig Pruess, also a film composer, helped him with an early introduction into the session world, and at 16 he had already played guitar on the soundtracks and scores to several major feature films, including the box office #1 Bend it like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice and What’s Cooking?

Daryl moved to Brighton in 2004 and graduated from Brighton Institute Of Modern Music, it was here he was signed to Virgin Records to work with his band Cat The Dog, and went on to record with producers such as Flood (U2, Nine Inch Nails), Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith).

During this time, Daryl continued to produce music for TV and film. His music has been used on Channel 4, Sky Sports and The Discovery Channel. He is currently working on the score and featured music for the upcoming indie-horror flick Ibiza Undead by Paranoid Android films.

Having a deep interest in electronic and avant garde music, as well as extensive experience as a studio and live guitarist has given Daryl a wide scope of styles that are reflected in his productions.

He works from his studio in Brighton, and is currently producing the debut album by Wendy Rae Fowler, who composed the theme tune for the US show The Killing as well as music for CSI: NY, Gossip Girl and The Prisoner.

He still collaborates with his father, producing tracks, and co-mixing the album “Africa” by Ugandan fusion band, The Ganda Boys.
